  INSTRUCTORS
TERRY LACY
Terry Lacy Terry began his career with 5 tigers, 15 elephants and a baby bear on a motorcycle at the Barnum and Bailey theme park Circus World. He continued his fascination of animal performance through the years in a bear suit with his portrayal of the Sugar Plum Bear for the Magnificent Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, as well as numerous additional roles during his 22-year-stint with New York City Opera Ballet (including a Griffelkin, a gentle fawn solo and the ass end of a horse). Further dance credits (of a less furry variety) include roles with Metropolitan Opera, Washington Ballet, Milwaukee Melody Top and as a performer, dance captain and choreographer for Carol Channing’s National Tour of Hello, Dolly. He even had a momentary diversion into the world of boxing with his choreography for Andy Kaufman and Blondie's Debbie Harry in Broadway’s Teaneck Tanzi.

Throughout his life Terry mixed the art of dancing with the mind and body centering techniques of yoga. With thanks to the wisdom, inspiration and generosity of his teachers Issac Pena, Keith Borden, Keith Wittenstein, Sandhi Ferreira and Edward Clark, Terry is now eager to share his animal roots of downward dogs, happy cows, unhappy heifers and the rest of the yoga menagerie.

Sandy Cyrus has been practicing yoga for the past 15 years.  She is a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor and runs her own studio, Full Circle Yoga, in Orono.  Sandy has a background in theatre and dance, and left a career in Marketing and Development to come "full circle" back to a life of creativity, freedom and full self-expression.  Sandy's teaching is her sadhana (spiritual practice), as she devotes herself to being present and "holding the space" for her students.

ANGELA FILECCIA
Angela Fileccia

Angela began her yoga practice eight years ago.  After practicing in Indiana with Teji Dilly, she took her teacher’s advice and completed a teacher training program with Kathleen Flanagan and H.S. Arun in addition to workshops in Ancient Ayruveda with Sara Tomlinson out of New York.

Angela's interests lie not only in the health benefits of balance, alignment, flexibility, strength, and kinesthetic awareness yoga provides but also in the intellectual, spiritual and philosophical foundations from which modern yoga asana practice has developed. On a personal level, her practice nicely accompanies her other physical interests that include hiking, running, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and walking to the Sea Dog for happy hour.

LESLIE FORSTADT
Leslie Forstadt

Leslie loves movement, including dance, biking, hiking, and yoga. Throughout her life she has returned to yoga to find balance, quiet, and a reminder to come into the present moment. Locally, Central Street Yoga and Sewall House Retreat helped her further her yoga practice over the last 3 years. This deepening practice included enrolling in a teacher training at Namaste Institute in Rockland, Maine, where she completed a 200-hour yoga certification. She is interested in yoga for physical and spiritual healing, and through her teaching she incorporates Yin and Insight Yoga in the hope to create space for others to listen to their bodies and appreciate their own internal wisdom. And she thinks it's very fun to play, never forgetting the healing power of a hearty giggle. Her website is Inhabit Yoga.

KELLY ILSEMAN
Kelly Ilseman

Kelly loves exploring the endless possibilities that the body has to offer through movement. A long-time runner, stretching and then treading through farmlands and wooded trails turned into an interest in yoga at age 10 (playing with plough and crow using pictures from the book Yoga, Youth and Reincarnation) and turned into a yoga practice at age 17.  Many years later, that practice has endured and many mysteries unraveled using the body’s wisdom. Kelly invites you to explore the limitless potential of yogic breathing, movement and stillness in her multi-level classes. She will complete her teacher training through Namaste Institute in Rockland, Maine, in December 2009.

JULIE MORSE
Julie Morse

A native Mainer, Julie danced from age 2 until age 17 and has always loved walking, hiking and the outdoors. She married her high school sweetheart immediately after college and started a busy life working as a registered nurse, three pregnancies and six moves in four states. Julie turned seriously to yoga with the guidance of books after the birth of her third boy and a strong need for "me" time. Julie's intention was merely a physical practice, however without realizing it, yoga transformed her life in a profound and permanent way. Breath and meditation are equally as important to Julie as the physical postures. The three practiced together are truly transforming. Her hope is for yoga to be accessible to all ages and socio-economic groups. The parent and child class fits Julie's lifestyle and helps to span yoga across the ages. Julie will complete yoga teacher training certification in December 2010 at Namaste Institute in Rockland, ME.

CAROLINE TROSTEL
Caroline Trostel

Caroline was a professional ballet dancer for 17 years, dancing in various companies all over the world. Her interest in yoga was sparked at an early age by her mother who took her along to classes. Later, during her career the interest continued and Caroline would get together with other 'like-minded' dancers who enjoyed the practice of asanas.

When Caroline married and started a family she neglected to nurture that physical side of her that was so important to her well being. Then she discovered Kate Potter, a yoga therapist and teacher who encouraged her to get back to her yoga practice. The benefits were immediate, and so profound that she decided to become a teacher herself in order to bring to others the new found joy and serenity that she had experienced through yoga.

Caroline would like to thank Terry Lacy who welcomed her desire to teach and trained her, giving up many hours of his time freely and willingly. She is so grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a gifted, knowledgeable and generous hearted teacher.

KITTY WILKINS
Kitty Wilkins

Kitty began her study of yoga in 2006.  Her first Ashtanga class ignited a spark within her, and she decided that she wanted to drop everything and become a yogi.  While she didn't exactly "drop everything", she embraced a regular yoga practice and has continued to learn as much as she can about the yoga way of life.  Her passion led her to become a certified yoga teacher in 2008.  She studied under Wendy Gross-Pinto and graduated from the Soul Sweat Teacher Training program, a 200 hour Yoga Alliance accredited program in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.  Her yoga passion lies in Ashtanga, which she has been practicing regularly since 2007 and teaching at Alluem Yoga in Cranford, New Jersey since 2009. She continues to attend workshops, conferences and reads diligently about the many yoga philosophies and practices. She attended the Yoga Journal Conference in May 2009 and April 2010, during which she attended two amazing weekends of training sessions with Ashtanga guru David Swenson.

Kitty is a Jersey girl who recently relocated from New Jersey to Maine.  She is inspired by nature and the beauty that is everywhere, and she loves to share her love of life, nature and yoga with everyone.  Kitty is forever grateful to her loving and supportive husband and her baby daughter Madeline, who remind her to find the miracle in every moment, and to all of her past and present yoga teachers including Ross Marshall, Wendy Gross-Pinto, and Gina Pachkowski as well as all of her future teachers.  She hopes to inspire others to learn to love the life they live, and to make yoga a way of life.
