Central Street Yoga offers the perfect entry point for students of all levels of fitness, including those who have never done yoga, can’t touch their toes, are overweight or are recovering from injuries. 

Ease through your journey with a slow stretchy Gentle Class or at the beginning of each season, try our Absolute Beginner/Basics Class. For practicing yogis, you can dive deeper into all aspects of your yoga practice with one of our Drop-in Classes which move at a more vigorous tempo and consistently explore the more advanced poses. On the first Sunday of each month, join us for Sun Salutation Sundays from 10am to Noon to benefit the Bangor Humane Society.

JIVA Massage Therapy is available throughout the day by appointment for full body massage sessions to help you on your path to wellness by alleviating stress, relieving overworked muscles and a providing a safe haven for your relaxation. Yoga Class Descriptions:

Absolute Beginner - for the uninitiated and curious. An introduction and overview to the fundamentals of yoga practice. One class per week for 5 consecutive weeks. Absolute Beginner is offered once each season with our Spring session beginning July 12th. Please call 207.249.9180 or email for reservations.

Gentle - for anyone seeking a slower, meditative experience. Postures are approached with great care and allow the student to gradually explore their flexibility at an unhurried pace.

Level I - for new yogis. The basic postures of yoga are explained and explored with an emphasis on alignment and breath.

Level II - for more experienced yogis with a familiarity of both standing and seated postures as well as inversions and backbends. Moderately vigorous and challenging.

Open Level - our Open Level class is just that — open to everyone. We recommend that students have at least 6 months of asana practice before participating in the Open Level class. Postures and sequencing will be explored based on the experience level of those attending class.

Sun Salutation Sundays - all are welcome. Each First Sunday from 10am to 12noon, join us for this community event of 108 rounds of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation), creating mantras for peace and change. Admission by donation, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Bangor Humane Society.

CSY accepts cash or checks. (At this time we do not accept credit cards.)

CSY provides mats, cork blocks, and straps for use at no extra charge.
