Central Street Yoga occupies the entire 4th floor at 9 Central Street at the intersection of Central Street, Hammond Street and Main Street in downtown Bangor. We are directly across the street from Epic Sports and the Grasshopper Shop and in the same building as Portla’s Restaurant.

The 1,300 square foot main studio is flanked by an expanse of windows that span the entire southern and western exposures and flood the space with natural light throughout the day. Great care was taken to fill the space with natural materials such as newly refinished, 100-year-old rock maple floors, warm cork lined inversion walls, rough-hewn log beams and woven wood window coverings. Greenery abounds in the studio with a variety of tropical plants under leaf-patterned drapery which undulates overhead. At night, the perimeter track lighting illuminates the studio with a soft, indirect, incandescent glow.

The meditation and massage room is separated from the main studio by sliding, bamboo translucent glass doors. The carpeted space is encompassed by 3 cork lined walls, one exposed brick wall and foliage lined windows. Reed and rice paper covered floor lamps imbue the space with a warm, gentle radiance during the evenings.

Both the women’s and men’s dressing rooms are decorated in earth tones, have honey-toned, solid wood furishings, wool carpets, and tropical plants. Narrow, glass block windows allow a soft natural light to filter in during the day.
